BNM installs new engine for 2T lubricants research

Redmax EBZ 6500 2-stroke engine

BNM installs the Redmax EBZ 6500 2-stroke engine in a new test-rig. This is the engine used in JASO-tests for detergency and lubricity.

BNM will however not use the engine for certifying tests but for in-house research. An externally regulated fan makes it possible to adjust the cylinder temperature for any chosen A/F ratio. Knowledge will hopefully be obtained both for fuel and lube limits, and also for base-data that will be helpful in establishing next generation of BNM’s lube-tests for chainsaws.

The test-rig will also be available for customers with similar interests.
